JILILUCK Responsible Play: Limits to Set and Where to Get Help
JILILUCK responsible play starts before you log in: decide how much time and money the session gets, and stop when either runs out. You must be 21 or over, and gambling is never a source of income. The steps below follow PAGCOR’s own reminders.
Limits to set before you play
Write these down before the first spin.
- A time limit for each session, and a clock to enforce it.
- A loss limit, the most you will lose in a session or a week. The loss limit meaning in plain words page explains the term.
- A budget made only of money you can afford to lose.
- A rule never to borrow money or use all your resources for gambling.
- A rule never to chase your losses.
An example: if you set PHP 500 as the loss limit for an evening and you reach it, you close the page. You do not top up to win it back.
Warning signs of problem gambling
PAGCOR lists signs that gambling has started to harm you. Check yourself against them.
| Sign | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Betting more than meant | Spending or staking above your plan |
| Longer than planned | Sessions that run past the limit you set |
| Chasing | Trying again and again to win back losses |
| Money trouble | Debt, missed bills, borrowing or selling belongings |
| Constant thought | Thinking about gambling all the time |
If two or more fit, stop and talk to someone.
Who may not play
Persons under 21 are prohibited from gambling, and so are persons in the National Database of Restricted Persons. PAGCOR also prohibits government officials and employees, members of the armed forces and police, and employees of licensees from gambling in gaming establishments and on online platforms.
Self-exclusion and help in the Philippines
PAGCOR runs an online self-exclusion application portal at osea.pagcor.ph. Spouses, children or parents of someone who needs help can apply for family exclusion. The steps are on the PAGCOR self-exclusion form steps page.
PAGCOR accredits help centres, including these:
| Centre | Contact listed by PAGCOR |
|---|---|
| National Problem Gambling Helpline | Landline (02) 8248 9568 |
| Gamblers Anonymous Philippines | Mobile 0915 938 2808 |
| Bridges of Hope | Mobile 0917 509 8826 |
PAGCOR’s responsible gaming page lists more centres, and it is the place to read the current details.
Talking to someone you trust
Tell a family member or a friend what you are spending and how often. Saying the number aloud is often enough to see that it has grown past your plan. If shame stops you, the helplines above take calls from players and from relatives.
