Source of funds means where the money in a transaction came from.
Key facts and contents
- JILILUCK Bank Transfer Limit
- A bank transfer limit comes from two places: the rail (InstaPay carries up to PHP 50,000 per transaction, PESONet has no scheme-wide cap) and your own bank, which can set a lower cap on either rail.
- JILILUCK Maya Upgrade Account
- To upgrade a Maya account, complete the video selfie, valid ID, verified address and verified personal information steps.
- JILILUCK Transaction Password
- A transaction password is a second secret that approves money leaving your account, separate from the password you log in with.
- JILILUCK Withdrawal Account
- A withdrawal account is the bank account you register so a casino can send your winnings back.
Source of funds means where the money in a transaction came from, and a cashier, wallet or bank asks the question because the law tells it to know its customer. If you can name the origin and show one document for it, the question takes a minute. This page explains what Republic Act 9160 and Republic Act 10927 require, and which papers answer which version of the question. The money-moving side sits in the e-wallet payment chain.
What the Anti-Money Laundering Act requires
Republic Act 9160, the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001, is the base law. Two of its rules reach every cashier you will meet.
| Rule | What the Act says | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Customer identification (Section 9(a)) | Covered institutions establish and record a client’s true identity from official documents, and anonymous or fictitious-name accounts are prohibited | Your name on every account must be your real one |
| Record keeping (Section 9(b)) | Transaction records are kept for five years from the date of the transaction | What you send today can be looked up years later |
| Covered institutions (Section 3(a)) | Includes institutions supervised or regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas | Banks and e-money issuers fall inside the rules |
Those rules explain why a wallet asks for ID before it lifts a limit. Maya’s own page asks for a video selfie, a valid ID, a verified address and verified personal information for an upgraded account, and the walkthrough to Maya upgrade account steps lists them.
Why a casino has its own reason to ask
Republic Act 10927, approved on 14 July 2017, added casinos to the Act’s covered persons, internet and ship-based casinos included, for their casino cash transactions. The law defines a casino cash transaction as cash received from a customer, or paid out to a customer or someone on their behalf. It sets a covered transaction for casinos at a single casino transaction above PHP 5,000,000.
So a cashier can ask for identification and records at any amount, and the formal reporting threshold is a separate, much higher matter. Your own deposits and cash outs will almost certainly sit far below it. The asking is still routine, so keep your records.
Documents that answer the question
Match the paper to the origin of that particular money.
| Where the money came from | Documents that answer it | Where you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Salary | Recent payslip or certificate of employment | Your employer |
| Savings | Bank statement showing the balance building up | Your bank |
| Business income | Business permit and sales records | Your own books and your LGU permit |
| Selling something | Receipt or deed of sale | The buyer or your own copy |
| Money from family | A signed note and the sender’s transfer record | The sender and your wallet |
| Earlier casino winnings | The casino’s transaction record and your bank credit | The lobby and your bank |
Keeping the trail for your casino account
The JILILUCK help centre says a member can view the transaction record for 30 days. Save a screenshot or note of each deposit and withdrawal before that window passes, and keep the matching bank or wallet entry. A bank transfer shows on your statement; the how bank transfer casino rails post page explains how the two rails post. Large movements also touch your bank’s own caps, which the page on a what caps a bank transfer limit covers.
When you are asked and you do not have the paper
A wallet or bank asks for proof and you have nothing to hand
Say plainly where the money came from, then ask which document the institution accepts for that origin. Gather the closest match from the table above, such as a bank statement, and send it through the institution’s own app or branch.
A message asks for documents and a payment to release your winnings
Close it. A genuine cashier does not demand a fee to release money, and the lobby’s Terms say its menu’s online customer service is the only support channel. Reach it through the lobby itself.
FAQ
What does source of funds mean?
It is the origin of the money in a transaction: your salary, savings, a sale, a business, a gift or earlier winnings. A cashier or wallet asks so it can record that the money has a legitimate origin.
Why would a casino or wallet ask for it?
Republic Act 10927 made casinos, including internet casinos, covered persons under the Anti-Money Laundering Act for their casino cash transactions. Wallets and banks are supervised by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and are covered institutions.
Which documents answer a source of funds question?
A recent payslip or certificate of employment, a bank statement, a tax return, a business permit with sales records, or a receipt for something you sold. Pick the one that matches where this specific money came from.
Ano ang covered transaction para sa casino?
RA 10927 sets a single casino transaction in excess of PHP 5,000,000 as a covered transaction for casinos. Ordinary player deposits are far below that, but identity checks and record keeping still apply.
Does JILILUCK ask for my documents?
The help centre does not list a documents step for deposits or withdrawals. If Customer Services or your wallet asks, answer through the lobby's own menu and never send documents to anyone who messages you first.
