  12. How to size a side bet

Side bets are optional wagers placed beside the main bet, and each one asks for a specific card result instead of a win.

Before you place one, see how the the table games online overview pages price each game, because a side bet’s payout is printed on the table and differs from one table to the next. The ten below are the common ones at baccarat and blackjack tables, with what each one asks the cards to do. None of the payouts are stated here, since the table’s own paytable decides them. Players aged 21+ only.

1. Player Pair

It wins when the first two cards dealt to the Player hand match in rank. The main round is irrelevant. With a ₱100 stake, the bet pays whenever those two cards are a pair, even if Banker wins the round.

2. Banker Pair

The mirror of Player Pair: it wins when the first two Banker cards match in rank. A ₱100 Banker Pair stake is settled the moment the first two cards turn over.

3. Tie

It wins when Player and Banker end on the same total. Many tables list it as a third main bet, and others treat it as a side wager. On a ₱100 stake it loses whenever either hand wins.

4. Super Six

It wins when Banker wins with a total of exactly 6. Some tables use it instead of charging commission on the Banker bet. A ₱100 stake is lost on every other result.

5. Dragon Bonus

It wins when a Player or Banker hand wins by a natural or by a wide point margin, with the exact margin printed on the table. Because the margin line differs, read the paytable before you stake ₱100.

6. Perfect Pairs

At blackjack it wins when your first two cards are a pair. Some tables pay more when the pair is the same suit, and the felt prints each tier. A ₱100 stake settles on the first two cards alone.

7. 21+3

It wins when your first two cards and the dealer’s upcard form a poker hand, such as three of a kind, a straight or a flush. The felt lists which hands count. On a ₱100 stake only the listed hands pay.

8. Insurance

Offered only when the dealer shows an ace, it wins if the dealer’s hidden card makes a blackjack. It is capped at half your main bet, so a ₱100 hand allows a ₱50 insurance stake. The standard payout is 2 to 1, which is how it is printed on blackjack tables.

9. Lucky Ladies

It wins when your first two cards total 20. Tables commonly pay more for stronger 20s, and the paytable prints each level. A ₱100 stake settles on the first two cards.

10. Over Under 13

You bet that your first two cards total over 13 or under 13, and a total of exactly 13 usually loses. The table prints the over and under payouts. A ₱100 stake is decided before you act on your hand.

How to size a side bet

Treat a side bet as a separate bet with its own cost, so add it to the session total before the first hand. Set a ceiling first with the setting a loss limit first page, and compare costs with the reading a bet’s house edge page. For example, a ₱20 side bet on 50 rounds is ₱1,000 across the session on top of your main bets.

If side bets appeal to you because you like card combinations, the climbing game at Pusoy Dos online and the hand rankings in poker rules for Hold’em use the same pairs, flushes and straights.

FAQ

Are side bets better value than the main bet?

They usually cost more per round, because the printed payout is often small against how rarely the result appears. Compare each side bet with the main bet on the house edge page before you stake.

Do side bets change the main hand?

No. A side bet settles on its own card result, and the main bet settles normally. You can win one and lose the other in the same round.

Where do I find a side bet's payout?

On the table. Side bet payouts differ between tables and studios, so read the paytable printed on the felt or the table's rules screen.

Paano ako maglalagay ng limitasyon sa side bets?

Magtakda ng loss limit bago ka umupo at isama ang side bet sa kabuuang taya mo. Tingnan ang loss limit page para sa paraan.
